CONCLUSION
In this paper, we have presented a sleep monitoring system
using a single chest strapped accelerometer, which can identify
not only the four common sleeping positions, but also cardiorespiratory rates. Detailed subject studies demonstrate the
practical value of the system and the potential of the system
for routine home-based monitoring.
SLEEP MONITORING SYSTEM
The proposed sleep monitoring system only require an
accelerometer, which is strapped onto the chest area over
the heart. To extract posture and cardio-respiratory parameters
from the accelerometer measurements, it mainly consists of
four steps: static postures detection, sleeping posture identification, respiratory and heart rate extraction. We will introduce
them in sequence in this section.
