From T. erecta fl owers, the following
compounds were isolated: phenolic derivatives
(syringic acid, gallic acid, 3,4-dihydroxybenzonic
acid and 3,4-dihydroxy- 5-methoxy-benzoicacid),
terpenoid β-amyrin, steroids β-sitosterol and
stigmasterol, and fl avonoids (quercetagetin,
quercetagetin-7-methyl ether and quercetagetin-
5-methyl ether) (Huang et al. 2006 ). Also isolated
from the fl owers were the terpenoid dammarenediol
3- O - n -palmitate; fl avonoid quercetagetin
3- O -glucoside; miscellaneous compounds
16 Z ,19 Z -pentacosadienoic acid; and monolinoleoyl
glycerol and vitamin E (Huang et al.
2007 ). Two new optical isomeric compounds
named 3-α-galactosyl disyringic acid 15-a and
3-β-galact-osyl disyringic acid 15-b were isolated
from the fl owers together with 22 othe
