Bolivia's government sent humanitarian aid to 20 families in the rural township of Luribay who were affected by a landslide caused by a hailstorm over the weekend.
The landslide buried at least three homes, several vehicles and left at least 20 families homeless in the town is located in the department of La Paz.
Deputy Minister of Civil Defense Bolivia Oscar Cabrera said that civil defense engineers will coordinate with local authorities to assess the damage and determine the humanitarian needs to be included in a second shipment of aid.
The families are dependent on agriculture in an area known for growing various fruits and vegetables. The natural disaster affected about five hectares of crops, which included corn, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots and onions.
