However after some responses to his article, he decided that the only way to overcome the problem was through "cooperation(being united and helping each other), helping oneself and working hard individually" as the basis for salvation. Despite this, in whatever they do, education should remain supreme. za'ba proposed that a group of Malay youth should be educated in tertiary education and trained in professions of their choice such as engineering, medicine and legal. He urged the Malays to unite, work hard and have the initiative to improve themselves instead of begging from the government. He applied the hadith in which the Prophet urged Muslims "to surrender to Allah but also to tie their camels" and the verse from the Qur'an that states that "men will not attain anything except that which he works at".
