Using the MLT in a sample of over 1,300 military recruits in Singapore demonstrated that affective-identity MLT scores (r=.39) and noncalculative MLT scores (r=.20) were reasonnable predictors of multisource behavioral-leadership potential ratings. MTI. Scores also provided additional explained variance in the criterion (i.e., leadership potential ratings) above and beyond other predictors including general cognitive ability, military attitude, and the Big Five personality factors. These promising results provide HR specialists with an additional tool to predict leadership success.
