3) The Simulation: The simulation technique is very
useful for an evaluation of alternative proposal. In this
paper, the simulation software “PROMODEL” is utilized
to compare obtained machine utilization of different
proposed choices. Thus, a number of attended machines
by one operator ranging from 12 to 14 machines are
explored. It is obvious that since the optimal number of
machines are eleven based on the calculation, any
increasing number of machines causes machine idle time.
The more number of machines are, the longer machine
idle time is. In order to prevent this adverse effect, an
elimination and reassignment of a few tasks are taken into
account. The mentioned modifications of each alternative
are compared and also tabulated in Table III. It can be
seen from Table 3 that non-value added tasks such as
recording of machine inspection, tool change, and tool
adjustment
