The decision not to increase fares has been met with skepticism from some of agency's board members. But, if Metro hopes to win back riders, it's a step in the right direction. D.C.'s metro riders, of which I am one, want to see value for the money they pay to ride the system. In the past few years, it seems like all we've gotten are accidents, construction delays and service malfunctions. It feels like the ability of the system to get passengers to their destination on time – or at all – has eroded, and that's a serious concern for me and other riders.
