As expected, the elongation at break of PLA films strongly
increased with the addition of OLA (Table 2), showing an important
enhancement in blends ductility that was well correlated with the
decrease in Tg observed in DSC curves. Films with 20 and 25 wt%
OLA showed the highest elongation at break and homogeneity (low
standard deviations). However, no further improvement in εtB value
was observed by the addition of 25 wt% OLA compared to results for
20 wt% plasticizer samples, being around 300% in both cases.
