. When significant treatment effects
were detected in these ANOVA analyses, Tukey's HSD multiple comparison
tests were conducted to examine the difference between groups.
All data were checked for normal distribution of the residual values
for each variable (Shapiro–Wilk test) and were log-transformed when
required. All statistical analyses were performed using the JMP software
(SAS Institute, NC, USA). Comparisons with p b 0.05 were considered
statistically significant.
