2.5.2. Experiment 2—Nelore compared with Holstein
The same procedure was used when Nelore oocytes were compared to Holstein oocytes, except
that the embryos were submitted to heat shock for 12 h, at 96 hpi only (Groups N×N, A×N, N×H
and A×H; N=Nelore, H= Holstein and A = Angus, where the first letter is the breed of the bull and the
second the breed of the cow).
Cleavage, blastocyst and hatched blastocyst rates were calculated from the total number of oocytes
used for fertilization, from Nelore compared with Holstein cows (four replicates).
