Experiment 1 was conducted to examine whether there is a
relation between learners’ memory for features and shape bias. After observing that there is a relation,
Experiment 2 served as a replication of Experiment 1 and determined whether/how the relation
between learners’ memory for features and shape bias changes across early childhood and adulthood.
Finally, Experiment 3 ruled out the possibility that the linguistic prompts used during the memory
task were biasing participants’ responses.
