A Cape Town lawyer was arrested after she was caught giving her drug dealer client a bag of tik when he appeared in court on Wednesday, said Western Cape police.
According to police spokesperson FC Van Wyk, the attorney was consulting with her client, Ivan Jacobs, at the holding cells of the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court.
Court orderlies saw the lawyer hand over a plastic bag to Jacobs during the consultation. They immediately went to search Jacobs and found 30 small packets of tik hidden inside two cigarette boxes.
Jacobs was in court for the murder and rape of his wife.
He and his lawyer were both expected to appear in the same court on charges related to the possession of drugs today.
