Location
Slootweg (1981) found 54 cases for which location was specified. Almost all of the cases occurred in the posterior or molar region of the jaws, with 73% in the posterior mandible and 15% in the posterior maxilla. In the anterior areas, only one case was detected in the anterior maxilla and five in the anterior mandible. Three of four cases reported by Nilsen b and Magnussen (1979) were in the posterior maxilla, and t the other was in the anterior mandible. In Trodhal's (1972) c series, 88% were in the mandible, of which 63% occurred in the molar region.
Radiologic Features Although the lesion may be small, it often causes expansion fi of the cortex, and many cases are large when discovered.
