If too many people refuse to go through a survey, this may also impact the reliability of
your data. For example, if you are conducting a survey of area parents, you want your findings to
be representative of all area parents—not just the helpful ones who like doing surveys and have
lots of extra time to spend on the phone. The attitudes and activities of people who are “naturalborn
volunteers” with lots of free time may bear little resemblance to those of parents in general.
