Since Laos and India established diplomatic ties on 2 February 1956,the traditional relationship between the two countries has remained strong thank to the numerous visit exchanges between the leaders of both countries .To mark the end of Mr Topden's mission in Laos,Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongloun Sisoulith , and other representstives of the Lao Government , hosted gala farewell on Septemper 6. During his three-year mission in Laos, outgoing Indian Ambassador Mr Tsewang Topden has helped to enhance the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.While in Laos ,Mr Topden requested various grants for several fields from the Indian government ,to help develop human resources and to provide IT equipment for the Lao - Indian Training Centre,as well as computers and a photocopy machine for the 10 th ASEAN summit.He also contributed to the promotion of the English Language Project at the Kaysone Phomvihane School and help to bring electricity and irrigation systems to southern Laos.
