A composite film made with the combination of chitosan, gelatin shown improved % water absorption, tensile strength and wound contraction, histopathological characteristics and visual healing in invivo studies than with the chitosan film. The antibacterial activity against various bacterial species was not improved by combination of gelatin with chitosan as gelatin cannot inhibit the growth of bacteria. Based on above findings it can be concluded that the composite film of chitosan and gelatin at 1:40 proportion is successful wound dressing for wound management with improved wound healing properties than chitosan alone film.
