If you have two different types of slides in your presentation, say one with data or quotes and the other with your points, you can use a separate transition for those slides. Just be sure to use it for that entire group, so that you are consistent.
Background graphics – Backgrounds are important, as they are part of what gives your presentation its professional appearance. However, selecting the right background can be tricky.
Be sure to pick a background whose theme goes well with your subject matter.
If you are giving the presentation in a normally lighted room, such as a conference room or classroom, light colored letters on a dark background will be more visible. Light backgrounds tend to wash out in this sort of lighting.
If you are giving the presentation in a room with low lighting, light backgrounds, with dark letters are more visible. However, dark backgrounds with light letters are more dramatic in this environment.
Some backgrounds have extensive graphics, such as taking 1/4 to 1/3 of the space on one side of the page (usually the left side). If you are going to use one of these, be sure your data will fit in the remaining space, without squishing it.
Avoid allowing your information to overlap major graphics elements in your background.
