The airports in Costa Rica have so many nice souvenirs, I felt like a shopping junkey there who isn’t allowed to buy anything :P But I’m very proud, I resisted the temptation :) From San Jose to Merida in Yucatan I had quite a long stop in Mexico City, where again something stupid happenend to me… I had to get my luggage and put it to another conveyer. I put some stuff of my hand luggage there so I wouldn’t have to carry so much with me, and of course I also put my passport in there… It took me an hour to get it back after explaning it to over 10 different people and running to all kind of offices… So never leave your passport in your luggage :P
I wasn’t so sure of going alone in the City, but I did it anyway and met a nice couple in the bus with whom I went there together then. In the night I finally arrived in Merida and was already told by my driver about all kinds of danger in Mexico…very calming :P
The next day my tour to my first archaelogical site started: Uxmal & Kabah :) Very cool if you think about all the stuff that happended there so much time ago… Also there I met a nice couple (there are really many couples travelling around!) and we went to have some dinner and cocktail in the night :) Merida was quite safe so even in the night it was no problem for me to go home alone, thank God!
