In addition to the roles of key stakeholders, changes in methods of instruction and assessment also require a change in the educational system structures to support learner-centered education. In the new system of education, there should not be any grade levels, as student progress is no longer time-based - it is continuous progress. Additionally, since learning occurs through self-directed projects, there are no class periods, for they would just interrupt student engagement. Similarly, there is no need for courses as multi-disciplinary projects replace courses to enable more authentic and contextualized learning.
