The total phenolic contents (TPC) of the fibre concentrates obtained from exotic fruit co-products are presented in Fig. 1. The TPC of the fibre concentrates, expressed as gallic acid equivalent, ranged (p < 0.05) from 129 mg/100 g for pineapple to 546 mg/100 g for mango, in the methanol:acetone extractions. In the ethanol extraction, TPC values were lower (p < 0.05) than those in the methanol:acetone extraction samples, with values ranging from 39 mg/100 g for guava to 283 mg/100 g for mango.
