This research aimed to study the effects of folk game experiences on basic
mathematics skills of young children using Thai as a second language in
Changwat Pattani. The 40 samples, acquired through purposive sampling and
then simple random sampling, used Thai as a second language and were second
year pupils of the kindergarten level at Ban Paa Muang School in Amphoe Saiburi,
under the supervision of the Office of Pattani Education, Region 1. They were
studying in the second semester of the academic year 2003. These samples were
divided into two groups, twenty in the Experimental group and twenty in the
control group. The research design was the post test only control group design.
