The high concentrations of glucose (140–200 g
glucose L−1) in liquid cultures of B. bassiana not only enhanced
blastospore production but also reduced the size of
the blastospores and changed their shape fromoblong to ovoid
(Fig. 4). The hyperosmotic environment in the high glucose
media (Fig. 2) may be affecting the shape of these blastospores.
