From this internship program at Thai Airways International Public Company Limited, I have learned so many things. Firstly, this internship provides me the opportunity to prepare for the full time employment. I have learned how the airline businesses operate. The program should be user friendly in order to manipulate and use smoothly. Since the customers do not usually want to wait for long time, I have to work and response very quickly. In service business, we need to value the customers. If the customers are not happy with the service provided they will not return and will also try to damage the company’s reputation. If we are able to make them happy, however, they will absolutely return and become loyal to the brand. Secondly, though there is very few people booked for the flight, I have noticed that, the company has no choice but to transport them. To explain, the company has to be responsible for their passengers even though it has few income or profit. In running the business, we must be ethical and responsible. Thirdly, we have to balance the weight of the passengers by spreadly arranging passengers’ seat. If most passengers sit at the front, the plane would not be able to take off. If most of them sit at the back, on the other hand, the plan would not fly because it would pull the back of the plan. Fourthly, we need to be conscious when the baggage lost. We should know who we should contact with. We need to recognize our own baggage and explained the aspect clearly in order to be traced easily. In this case, we need to use the communication skills and interpersonal skills effectively. If we talk to the personnel clearly and politely, he/she willing to help us. Next, I need to patience because I worked in the service company. I have observed that the staffs need to listen and accept the customers’ complaint because they are parts of the organization even though they cannot solve the problem. And lastly, the company will be more productive if they put the right people on the right job. I have heard that a staff who had been working in one department perform poorly and was not happy with the job. Then, the company did the job rotation and change him to other department. Consequently, he works best in this department and satisfy with his job. I have learned that we need to evaluate and measure employee's satisfaction toward the job because it affects the company’s productivity and effectiveness.
