The biggest issue with the material used on these bags is that it weakens quickly between the two PET layers (the outer laminate is 12um mPET / 12um mPET / 50um LLDPE), causing visible delamination and weak seal strengths. If results below the spec are seen, we should not extend the shelf life.

Please note – if we choose not to extend the shelf life, it means the decision to use or otherwise is up to Dole. It may be, even with lower seal strengths, the bags are fit for purpose, but we will not warranty this.
