Some data are specific to an individual engine: shop trial results,
sea trial results, electronically stored information from general service
reports made by Wärtsilä, and performance data collected onboard.
All these were combined with the database of expert knowledge,
enabling the resulting expert system to automatically generate advice
on the condition of the specific engine. The CBM Management tool
comprises a Data Collector (hardware and software) and an Expert
System (hardware and software)
