Adults with only diabetes had significantly higher intakes of
fiber (8.1 g/1,000 kcal vs 7.6 g/1,000 kcal; P0.02) and total fat
as a percentage of total energy (35.3% vs 34.1%; P0.006) than
adults without either disease. Adults with both diabetes and
high blood pressure had a higher sodium intake (153.0% of the
DASH target vs 146.6%; P0.04).
