Hello, my old friends. I heard you plan to travel Thailand in 10 days, and I knew you and your companions did not organize your trip. So, I would like to suggest my hometown to you. My hometown is Phang Nga, the jade of the Andaman Sea. It is a quiet town and one of the southern provinces of Thailand. In the 1700s, during the war between Thailand and Burma, many people in Phuket and nearby areas emigrated to Phang Nga and expanded the town’s population. Phang Nga was upgraded to a province in 1933 by the King Rama III (1824-1851).
Phang Nga is far from Bangkok about 788 km. and it is the only one province that connected Phuket Province by a highway bridge, named Saphan Sarasin. From 77 provinces in Thailand (including Bangkok), Phan Nga is the 71st of rank, and the 69th of density rank by 261,370 populated people.
The famous landmark is the so-called James Bond Island or Koh Tapu (meaning Nail Island in Thai), which featured in the 1974 movie The Man with the Golden Gun, the ninth entry in the James Bond series.
Most people in Phang Nga are kindness, we love to make a merit such as to donate money to poor children and to put food offerings in a monk's alms bowl every day in the morning. Although, Most of us are Buddhists, but the majority of rural areas is Muslim. However, They do not suffer from the different religions and live in peace.
The foreign tourists love beautiful beaches and strange mountains very much because of not crowded. In my opinion, there are two seasons in Phang Nga and nearby provinces like Phuket and Krabi, that are sunny and rainy weathers.
Transportation in Phang Nga, there are frequent buses to Bangkok and every provinces in the south, and non air-conditioned intra-provincial buses. Even if, there is no airport here, but we can use the nearest airport at Phuket International Airport.
