All quantification was performed with an external standard. A volume of 2 µl of each
sample extract was injected under the following conditions; temperature injector:
240°C, temperature detector: 280°C, initial column temperature: 80°C hold for 5
minutes then increased to 140°C at a rate of 3°C per minute and from 140°C to 240°C
at a rate of 10°C per minute and hold for 8 minutes. The carrier gas was helium
(average linear volume of 20 ml per minute) and the make up gas was N2 at 60 ml per
