We sent out an alert last week regarding this issue. To date, Tableau has not corrected this issue. As a reminder here is a recap of the issue:
We have been receiving reports of users unable to access Tableau reports in Chrome. Our Tableau administrator has been in contact with Tableau for more information regarding the issue. At this time, Tableau is recommending viewing the report from a different browser (Safari, Firefox or Internet Explorer). Here are the technical details from Tableau regarding the issue:
Issue
When viewing a workbook in Google Chrome on Tableau Server, one of the following errors might occur:
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'startup' of undefined
Or:
Unexpected error
An unexpected error occurred. If you continue to receive this error please contact your Tableau Server Administrator.
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier
Uncaught Error: Attempted to use CommandController before creating it.
Environment
Tableau Server
Google Chrome Version 45
Resolution
Option 1
Click the Back button in the browser and attempt to open the view again. After the view opens successfully, the error should no longer occur for the remainder of the browser session.
Option 2
Use a different browser, such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or an earlier version of Google Chrome.
Cause
This behavior is related to a known issue currently under investigation.
