- Language-focused learning requires certain conditions to be effective
1. The language features focused on must be reasonably simple.
2. The language features should not be influenced by developmental sequences or, if they are, the learners should be at the appropriate stage of development to benefit from the attention.
3. If the purpose of the learning is to make learning from meaning-focused input more effective, then it is sufficient to raise learners’ awareness of the item and its use (Ellis, 1995).
