2.1. Plant Material and Extraction Procedure. Leaves of
Olea europaea L. were collected from the region of Sfax
in the south of Tunisia. A voucher specimen (No. 0506)
was deposited in the herbarium of the botanic laboratory
(Faculty of Pharmacy, Monastir, Tunisia).
2 ISRN Pharmacology
The olive leaves were dried at room temperature and
then powdered. The powder was extracted successively with
chloroform and methanol by maceration at room temperature
for 24 hours, and then it was filtered. The solvent was
removed from resulting solution under vacuum in a rotary
evaporator.
