I was determined to be the first in my family to go to college and graduate. I wanted to be 1st amongst my cousins and other family members and immediate family my age, to go to a good college. I actually ended up being the only one to ever graduate college in my family, so it was very important for me to accomplish Graduating. I graduated from NYU to be exact! My entire family for all sides came of to see me graduate. Well as many came as I could get tickets for. My Mom was sitting so proudly in the audience and my family cheered me on through the entire graduation. They were so proud of me. I felt amazing that day. They made banners and posters to hold up during the graduation. It was a truly loud Hispanic family that day. Knowing that I made my family that proud of me by graduating from such a prestigious school was very important to me as well.
I’m very grateful for the opportunities that my education had given me and my family. I would not be able to support my family now or have obtained any jobs I wanted if it wasn’t for the education and knowledge I received. has given me so that I can succeed. I can only do my best to give that kind of education to my family now.
