The significant difference in knowledge about
disease between study and control group was
observed at the end of the study. Subjects in the
study group at the end of study were receiving
higher number of medications comparing to the
control group. At the end of the program more
patients in study group (79%) then in control group
(55%) obtained at least high regular level of blood
pressure.26
In agreement with Hunt et al. study10, it was
demonstrated that inclusion of pharmacist to
monitor pharmacotherapy and provide
pharmaceutical care resulted in increase in number
of used antihypertensive and cardiovascular
disease medications.
