Training needs to be continuous — as well as manageable — for it to work. The principal also knows that the teachers will learn best if they take part in technology-based activities. Therefore, this principal is creating an online community for the school leaders in addition to conducting an annual training session. The shared online community will be private within the school and will immerse the teachers in an environment they may not be familiar with yet. In this community, the principal will model digital citizenship while posting additional information for the teachers. In this online community, the teachers will share how they are working toward the ISTE Standards for Teachers. And to ensure that the teachers have equitable access to technology, the principal has provided each teacher with a laptop.
