. Rght. The three or so living species of sequoias are
the coastal redwood (S. sempervirens, see below),
the dawn redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides)
and the giant or Sierra redwood, or 'big tree'
(Sequoiadendron giganteum), shown here. It can
grow to almost lOOm/330ft in height and can live for
several thousand years.
