TRussian scientists have created innovative packaging to help consumers perfect the boiled egg, without using water.
The Gogol Mogol appears to be a simple cardboard egg box, but when it is activated, it produces heat. On pulling the brown tab, special chemical layers react and cook the egg.
Similar to technology used in self-heating tins, the invention uses chemicals including calcium hydroxide and water that create heat when exposed to each other.
The egg is cooked after only two minutes, but the user can leave it in for longer depending on their yolk consistency preferences. This halves the conventional four-minute period required to cook the egg when boiled in water.
The Gogol Mogol is a single-use cardboard egg box made with special chemical layers that produce heat when activated. Each individual package for an egg is made from recycled cardboard with several layers.
