Abstract
This multi-authored book (100 authors) provides a comprehensive review, in 70 chapters, of what is known about the various causes of cancer and the epidemiológical aspects of cancers of various sites as well as the issues concerned with cancer control. The text is presented in 5 sections: basic concepts; the magnitude of cancer (e.g. international patterns of cancer and the changing risks that occur among migrant populations, which reflect the impact of environmental factors); the causes of cancer; cancer by tissue of origin; and cancer control.
