An audit was undertaken to examine the IPC practice of phlebotomy for blood group- ing samples for up to 60 personnel in one session; a regular occurrence within the set- ting of a military training establishment, with the potential for infection transmission. The audit was undertaken by utilizing the Infection Prevention Society Quality Improvement Tool for Standard Precautions, which has been created by sub- ject matter experts and commended to HCWs to enhance the quality of patient care.
