The positive outcomes of this project also demonstrate the
need to provide ongoing continuing education for nurses. It is
essential for continuing education to focus not only on new
information but also to provide a review of previously taught
information. The improvement in flushing technique validates
the need to re-educate nurses on the basics of nursing care. Reinforcement
of proper skill technique can have a clear impact
on improving patient outcomes. Future studies are needed to
determine the appropriate frequency of in-service education
