More than four months have passed since Bayern Munchen President Karl Heinz Rumenigge officially announced Carlo Ancelotti as their new Manager for next season. But no contact has seemingly been made from the Italian coach to persuade Mario Gotze not to leave the Bavarian Club.
The 23-year-old has to decide before or after Euro 2016 where his future lies; he has three main options. The first option is to remain at the Alainz Arena but it seems the least probable.
Despite his enormous talent, Gotze has never been an automatic selection at Bayern and after his World Cup final winning goal in 2014 his performances have never met Guardiola’s expectations. Another reason as to why he is seriously considering an exit is that his natural position is occupied by talisman Thomas Muller.
His second option is to move to the Italian giants Juventus. Although Serie A may be less tempting than the English Premier League, Gotze revealed to Tuttsport that Juventus is an attractive club.
The Bianconeri have already booked the italian international Domenico Berardi in this position but Coach Massimo Allegri asked the club administration to buy the German Superstar to strengthen his attacking potential for the Champions League.
His third and preferable option is a move to the most attractive European League. Although Manchester United showed some interest in the attacking midfielder, Liverpool have already started talks with Gotze entourage and a reunion with Klopp could rediscover his fire. The Reds who reached the Europa League final have to face Seville. Should they beat the Spanish holders, who are trying to win the Europa League for the third successive season, they will earn a place in next season's Champions League. Jurgen Klopp as his Manager, Anfield stratospheric atmosphere and Champions League football are the perfect ingredients that will convince Gotze to go for this move.
Acquiring Gotze would send out a real message that next year Liverpool will return in the battle to win the Premier League.
