The stability of the astaxanthin powders was evaluated in a 10-
day storage trial under controlled environment. Samples were
evenly spread on petri dishes and kept in desiccators containing
saturated MgCl26H2O solution to provide a relative humidity
(RH) of approximately 33%. The desiccators were filled with either
air or nitrogen, then sealed with parafilm and stored in an oven at
45 C without light. The storage temperature was monitored and
sampling was conducted every 2 days for 10 days. The samples collected
were stored at 20 C for further analysis.
