do you also remember, although i cant recall whether it was in the movies, when Dumbledore visits the Dursleys? He says to them "[Harry] has known nothing but neglect and often cruelty at your hands. The best that can be said is that he has at least escaped the appalling damage you have inflicted upon the unfortunate boy [Dudley] sitting between you."
and if you trust dumbledores judgment, which i, for the most part do, you can safely assume that anyone spoiled beyond belief and still below the age of adulthood cannot be blamed for their brattiness, it is their parents doing. so i dont think we can quite blame draco for being spoilt. i was a brat when i was younger too. his brattiness can only be attributed to his parents and his age/immaturity.
as for associating with death eaters, there are endless complexities and motivations to his actions. i do not believe Rowling intended to write a character so complex, but she did.
KL have you read the books? i hold no judgement over people who prefer the movies or havent read the books or anything i just ask because in my opinion the movies chop and skip what i would call vital moments portrayed in the books and this lead to dracos character depicted slightly differently.
