Antennas must be close to the goods as they are being
read. You need to know the antenna’s orientation, approximate read range, and
the footprint of the area that it will cover. Most antenna manufacturers include a
datasheet or whitepaper that you can use to estimate the radiation pattern. If
you are using multiple antennas, your antenna read zones should overlap
slightly to enhance the probability of obtaining the reads as the tags travel
through that IZ.
