The DPPH radical scavenging activity was analyzed for each by
following Sanchez-Moreno, Larrauri, and Saura-Calixto (1998)
method. The extract (100 ml) was added to 3.9 ml of DPPH solution
(0.025 g/L) and the reactants were incubated at 25 °C for 30 min.
Different concentrations of ferulic acid was used as a positive
control and ethanol was used instead of extract in blank. The decrease
in absorbance was measured at 515 nm using a spectrophotometer.
The radical scavenging activity of tested samples was
calculated and expressed on percentage basis.
