Helicopter Welcoming Bride Causes Traffic Jam
A helicopter parked on Nanyuan Road in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area yesterday to pick up bride and escort her to the wedding, causing traffic jam on the road.
Some drivers trapped in the jam reported the incident to the police, and a police car soon arrived. Since it was occupying a public road, police have now begun to investigate.
In order to ensure the landing safety, security guards for the wedding “blocked” the roads, causing congestion for almost an hour.
It is said that the newly wed couple came up with the idea to embody "heaven-sent luck."
Pilots operating the flight said they had permits for commercial flight and confirmed the safety for the landing. The civil aviation authorities said that whether this flight is legal or not will be under further investigation. General aviation has designated places for takeoff and landing, the street is not one of them.
