Conclusions and recommendations
This study was the first original study to assess the research utilisation of nursing teachers using a national survey. Conclusions based on the findings are the following.
1. Level of academic education has crucial impact on nursing teachers' research utilisation. 2. The Doctoral degrees in nursing lead to signalficant higher research utilisation in teaching than master's degrees. 3. Nursing teachers' activity in research and publication has a positive impact on research utilisation.
To improve research utilisation on nursing education next recommendations can be given. 1. Nursing teachers should take the doctoral degree even more than before. 2. Nursing teachers should be more active in research and publication. 3. Nursing teacher education should be developed so that nursing teacher candidates learn to utilise research on teaching.
