What is disheartening is that
close to 50% of the sampled students had no idea how Thabo’s sunburn could have arisen. The generalization
is justified by the random selection of
schools in the area around Gaborone and the fact that
the curriculum is centrally administered from the
Ministry of Education in Gaborone. It is not likely
therefore that students in areas not sampled could
have been following a different course of study.
