I wanted to update you on some of the concerns raised at the recent parents meeting and remind parents of a few issues that have emerged recently.
With regard to the teachers in Year 1 and 2, I am sorry to report that the teacher we expected to appoint this week decided at the last moment to accept a job in Bangkok instead. This is very disappointing but not unusual in the world of international schools. My aim is always to attract and retain the very best teachers for Bloomsbury and I am confident we will soon be back up to full strength. In the meantime we have modified our teaching programme for Year1 and 2 and I will be sending parents details shortly.
Uniform is one area that can be a distraction from more important issues. The word means ‘all the same’, so we would like that to be the case for the way our students dress, both in school and arriving and departing. I would like to ask parents to ensure their children wear their blazers when they arrive in school in the morning. If you require a new one, please contact the school office.
Boys can choose to wear a belt or not, but if they do, the belt should be black leather with a metal buckle.
