4. Conclusions
PANI, being inherently a conducting polymer in its emeraldine conjugated state, requires the presence of a positively charged donor. This need is satisfied here by the polar protic entity, an effect on the pH and hence in turn a change in the concentration of the donor changed the conductivity and the impedance characteristics of the system. The concept of EIS has been successfully applied here in a screen-printed electrode system for the first time. The experiments could map, with satisfactory accuracy at the ppm level, correlating the absorption of ammonia with the amperometric response and the impedance characteristics of the system
