ADDITIONAL APPLICATION FOR LIBRARIES Library Tours QR codes may also prove useful in constructing library tours that address a variety of learning styles. Brigham Young University’s Harold B. Lee Library recently provided a QR code-based tour of its library as an alternative to the traditional audio tour offered via MP3 player. Student feedback provided evidence that this endeavor was successful as an effort to meet the needs of visual and kinesthetic learners (Whitchurch, 2011). In addition to its appeal to different types of learners, the Brigham Young University’s model proved beneficial because it allowed patrons to be freed up from the constraint of having to check out an MP3 player from service staff. Instead, they could use the smart device they already owned and were most comfortable with, initiating the tour at any time, at any of its many stops.
